Abstract

Introduction: Despite a growing number of online health intervention programmes, the development and validation processes of the web-based module for use in intervention programmes from the perspective of health professionals and parents (end-users) have rarely been reported. This study aims to develop and validate a web-based Interactive Malaysian Childhood Healthy Lifestyle (i-MaCHeL) module for preschool child-parent dyads. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study consists of two stages guided by the five-phase ADDIE model. Stage 1 includes analysis, design, development, and implementation of the web-based module. Stage 2 involves evaluation through content and face validity by health professionals (n=5) and parents (n=42). Validity was measured using the content validity index (CVI) and face validity index (FVI). Results: The validated module consists of 13 topics related to weight-related behaviour. The S-CVI (0.9–1.0) and S-FVI (0.98–1.0) scores exceeded the acceptable threshold of 0.80, indicating excellent content and face validity. Conclusion: The module is validated and suitable for delivery to preschool child-parent dyads.
